Cryptic Crossword Hints and Tips
I thought I would provide some hints and tips on how to solve cryptic crosswords...
If there is a word like upset, revolve, return - or in this blog's case - regenerate, it means there is an anagram to solve. There is usually an extra clue to guide you. For example, Sore about companion = Rose.
Synonyms are often used in crosswords, so look for different words which mean the same thing.
If a clue says initially or at first, it means one or more of the words only needs its beginning letter to mean something to the answer. For example, ET = extra-terrestrial.
Also, look out for puns!
I hope this helps!
