Tegan has proved very able in the business with the Cybermen. Her insubordination in not evacuating the UNIT premises was actually good judgement on her part as she showed great bravery and saved the lives of many UNIT personnel, myself included. Her reputation as a "mouth on legs" is well-earned. I don't know about the Master, but she scares me half to death sometimes. She is loyal and trustworthy, but please don't send her on any diplomatic missions. Information on her time with the Doctor is in the usual cryptic crossword format below.
